Fayette County has a leash law, which means that you have to have your dog on a leash when you are out in public. So dog parks are important if you do not have a fenced yard or don’t have much space for your dogs to run. Thankfully, we have two Fayette County dog parks.
Tour of Fayette County Dog Parks
When you are a dog lover, like me, you need to know where your local dog parks are. There are two right here in Fayette and Peachtree City and I am taking you on a tour in this video.
Fabon Brown Dog Park, Tyrone
The first one is in Tyrone. It is the Fabon Brown Park and the dog park was created through Nate Troemel’s Eagle Project. Nate is a Boy Scout from Troup 79 in Tyrone and his project created this fabulous little park.
It is perfect for small to medium sized dogs and has lots of fun obstacles to challenge the dogs. Just look at the tire to jump through, the fire hydrants to pee on! It even has a bone shaped bench for humans to sit on.
Peachtree City Dog Park
The Peachtree City Dog Park is managed by the Peachtree City Dog Park Association and is not maintained by the city. The entrance fee is $1 for up to 3 dogs that you can put in the box here. If you and your dogs visit a lot, you can become a member for $35. Find out more about the Peachtree City Dog Park and how you can support it here.
The park has 3 separate areas. The first one is for smaller dogs, up to 30lbs. It is the smaller area, but has lots of space for the dogs to play. Each area has a gazebo and plenty of seating for humans to hang out as the dogs play.
The second area is the main area and all dogs are welcome here. Again, there is a gazebo, plenty of seating for humans, big piles of wood chips and lot of shade. There are also watering stations in each of the areas. Georgia gets hot in the summer and the dogs need to stay hydrated.

No kids under 12 are allowed in the third area. This one is for dogs that get nervous around kids or need some space. I love that there is a special section for dogs like that, since not all dogs are good with kids.
What do you think of our Fayette County dog parks? It is great that we have leash free options here in Fayette and Peachtree City.
Are you taking your dogs to the park? Give me a shout out so my mutts Dempsey and Luna (pictured in the thumbnail) and I can meet you there.
