There is a new a new bowling alley in Peachtree City! The first of its kind in Peachtree City, Royal Lanes Social in the Aberdeen Village Center, was developed by Marilyn and Jim Royal, the owners of Partners Pizza, Y-Knot’s and the shopping center that houses them. The Royals have long thought that the town was overdue for something for families to do and have been mulling over the idea of having a bowling center in the shopping center for over a decade. Finally the timing was just right and Royal Lanes Social is now open!
Duckpin Bowling
There are 10 regular 10 pin lanes of bowling, as well as 6 mini duckpin bowling lanes. If you’re not familiar with what duckpin bowling is, it’s a smaller ball, shorter lane, smaller pins. You get three rolls per frame. Be sure to see it in action in the video above. It’s really a lot of fun! A lot of people have been skeptical, because they don’t really know what to expect. However, as they bowl, they have a blast doing it. The ten pin lanes, that’s what you’re used to when you go bowling anywhere. There are 6 lanes upstairs, and 4 lanes in the facility downstairs
Bowling Rates
Standard bowling rates, you’re renting the lane by the hour. Normally it’s $30 an hour, after 5 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday it will be $40 an hour. You can have up to 6 people on the lane. If you’re paying attention to what you’re doing and you focus on bowling, you should have no problem getting 6 people getting through a game of bowling in an hour. If you’re looking to have more than one game, be sure to reserve two hours.
You’re not required to wear shoes when you’re doing duckpin bowling, but bowling shoes are required when you’re doing ten pin bowling. You can bring your own or rent for $4 a pair.
Refreshments
There is a full bar with beer, wine and liquor both upstairs and downstairs. Currently they are serving Partners Pizza as well as selections off the menu from Y-Knot. The food is currently brought in from the restaurants up until about 8 o’clock at night. As we go along we’re going to differentiate the menu from what Y-Knot has. They’ll have more fresh offerings, so as we go through the summer and fall you ought to see a lot of different menu items popping up.
Private Bowling Events
The entire downstairs is designed for private events. It has 4 lanes of 10-pin bowling, as well as lot of space to sit and eat. Be sure to check out the video to see the beautiful space. It’s also open for open bowling, if there is no event going on. Be sure to contact Royal Lanes Social for information and pricing.
