The gorgeous Blalock House was built in 1887 and stood on Stonewall Avenue for nearly 100 years. In the 1970’s, the home was moved to its current location on Harris Rd.

During its time, it has been a family home, part of the Fayetteville Baptist Church, wedding venue and most recently again a family home.

While the exterior got a brick upgrade after the move, all of the interior appointments like columns, steps, etc. are still original.

The Blalock House was built by Aaron Oliver Blalock, grandson of Zaddock Blalock, who moved to Fayette County in around 1828.

When it had to be dismantled to make way for the Fayette Baptist Church Sanctuary, Aaron Oliver Blalock’s grandson, David Brock, moved the house in its entirety to Harris Road. With its beautiful grounds, the house made the perfect setting for many couples who were married at the Blalock House.However, it is now on the market as a perfect family home.

With its soaring ceilings, trim made of quarter cut oak (or Tiger oak) and stain glass windows, you have the best of the historic architecture, while the updated kitchen and new hardwood floors and carpet provide modern conveniences.
